• Clothing: Thermal underwear, underwear, socks, children's clothes, swimsuits, sportswear and socks are made of polypropylene fabric. But the fabric is not popular in the clothing sector because it has some drawbacks, such as hydrophobicity and poor dye absorption, and relatively smooth surfaces. Although the fabric has good moisture absorption properties and is used in sportswear, it is difficult to wash, which prevents it from being washed in hot water, so the unpleasant smell is difficult to remove. Polypropylene is also widely used in nonwovens.
• Household textiles: In the home, polypropylene is used to make carpets, carpet liners, blankets and upholstery fabrics.
• Industrial textiles: Filters, nets, ropes, canvas, bags, food labelling and packaging, geotextiles, woven bags, medical and surgical disposal are some of the areas where polypropylene is used. However, polypropylene has become a very important substance for other industries and is not widely used in the clothing sector.
