The varieties of polypropylene (PP) fiber include filaments (comprising undrawn filaments and bulked textured filaments), staple fibers, bristle fibers, film-split fibers, hollow fibers, profiled fibers, various composite fibers, and non-woven fabrics.
Its main applications are in the production of carpets (including carpet backing and pile fabric), decorative fabrics, furniture fabrics, various ropes, tapes, fishing nets, oil absorbent mats, construction reinforcement materials, packaging materials, and industrial fabrics such as filter cloths and bag cloths.
In addition, its application in apparel is becoming increasingly widespread. It can be blended with a variety of fibers to produce different types of blended fabrics, which can be processed into shirts, outerwear, sportswear, socks, etc. through knitting. Quilts made from polypropylene hollow fibers are lightweight, warm, and have good elasticity.
